If you read the Browns blog, it's probably pretty obvious that I think that Calvin Johnson is the best bet for the Browns, if he somehow slips to the No. 3 spot. Well, if you read the Akron Beacon-Journal you probably think the same way after reading this ode to the Georgia Tech receiver. As the Beacon-Journal points out, he's as big, as fast and as talented as any receiver that's ever been in the draft.
``When I compare this young man, he has everything they have, but he's been given more,'' Georgia Tech receivers coach Buddy Geis said. ``He's taller, he can jump higher, he's faster, he has great body control. Except we're talking about a guy who's 6-5 and 235 to 240 pounds. I would say he's an A-plus plus as a player and an A-plus plus plus plus as a person.''
Then there's his 45-inch vertical.leap, his outstanding character, and his solid blocking. Again, if the Browns have the chance, there is no way you can go wrong picking CJ.
But then Terry Pluto has a notes column pointing out that Johnson is likely going No. 1 now, so the Browns may never get a chance to nab him.

1. Pluto must be living on Mars if he thinks the Raiders are'nt going after Russell. The Raiders have already released Brooks AND Tuiasosopo, leaving Andrew Walter as the only QB on the roster. The Packers are not about to give them Rodgers for Moss, and I don't see them trading draft picks for Trent Green. The way I see it,if you own an NFL team, then you're probably going to need somebody to play QB.Hey, maybe they're gonna convert Johnson into a QB,is that it?

2. Ive been reading Terry Pluto's work, including award winning sports books for over 20 yrs,it is surprising his perdicting Calvin to be taken first, because I would have to agree the Raiders have to go after a QB.And even though I'm a big Browns fan,and QB'S havent worked out well,or for that matter any top 3 picks since the "DAWG POUND" has returned I would almost want them to go after Russell,so how the Raiders can pass I have no idea.CJ also sounds like a great fit for the Browns.
With the draft quickly approaching and more interest then I've heard in a long time it should be interesting.Go Browns!

3. It is obvious that the browns are not sold on our current Q.B's If Jamarcus Russell somehow falls to us at the #3 spot we will take him. But I see a lot of willing & dealing draft day. But if we can get Calvin Johnson we have to go with him. But if those two guys are gone.then we have to take Peterson. Go Browns
